Music software which enables a person to record his/her voice over music (from a CD or Mp3)?

I'm trying to find music software which will allow me to record my voice over a music track from one of my CD's. The end result will be a new music track with my voice playing simultaneously with the (background) CD music. Which software program will allow me to do this?

There is a program called "Audacity." If the music is as a WAV or MP3 you can simply load it into a track and then record a second track along with it, using the microphone to record it. If the music is on a CD, you need to "rip" the CD to wav or MP3 first; there are a number of programs that will do that.

Audacity does a lot of things. And it's free! See my Yahoo! Answer below for more details.
